BlackHer Collective exists because Black girls and women deserve a space where they feel seen, heard, valued, uplifted, respected, loved, and cherished.
They deserve a space where they can unapologetically explore who they are, in a world that too often tells them who they should be.
A space that doesn’t try to reshape them, but instead affirms who they already are, while helping them harness the greatness that already lives within.
Black girls and women deserve a community—one where they can build lifelong bonds, grow together, cry together, laugh together, and hold space for one another without judgment.
A place where they can simply be:
Be themselves.
Be expressive.
Be soft.
Be powerful.
Be authentic.
Be joyful.
Be free.
Free from stereotypes.
Free from judgement.
Free from the heavy weight of always being expected to carry others.
Free from the pain they were told to bury.
Free to rest.
Free to heal.
This space doesn't promise that harm or hardship will never happen—but it does promise that when it does, there will be room to talk about it, to unpack it, and to be held through it.
Here, the only expectation is that each person prioritizes caring for themselves first, and then explores what it looks like to be in community with others who are doing the same.
Black girls and women should never be expected to carry the world on their shoulders. Not in this space.
This organization matters because it’s about returning home to self.
To joy.
To softness
To sisterhood
To heal.
Because Black girls and women deserve a space to feel whole.
A space to feel free.
A space to just be her.

Amari Roberts, M.Ed
Founder and Executive Director
Amari Roberts is a passionate advocate for Black women's empowerment and creative expression. With over a decade of experience in community organizing and spoken word artistry, she founded BlackHer Collective to create transformative spaces where Black women and girls can heal, grow, and thrive together. Her vision centers on the belief that when we root ourselves in joy and rise in power, we create ripples of positive change that extend far beyond our immediate community.
Our Work
Through four core program areas, we create comprehensive support systems that nurture every aspect of our community's growth and empowerment.

We create intentional spaces that nurture the mind, body, and spirit of Black girls and women. Through restorative practices and wellness activities, we center self-care as an act of liberation.
Healing & Wellness

From poetry to visual art, movement music, we celebrate self-expression as a tool for healing and storytelling. These spaces invite Black girls and women to share their voices and honor their creativity.
Creative & Expressive Arts

We bridge wisdom across generations, connecting young Black girls with women who inspire, guide, and affirm them. These relationships create lasting bonds and a shared sense of legacy.
Mentorship & Connection

Through hands-on opportunities and skill-building workshops, we cultivate confident, capable leaders. We equip Black girls and women with tools to influence change in their communities and beyond.
